I make sculptures, installations, and paintings that often revolve around vehicles for exploration. The work conflates times and technologies as well as politics and icons. I hope to address divergent histories and make linkages between particular sources. My latest work attempts to wed transcendent rocket men with Arcadian Shepards, build space ships into Mayan apocalypse space, and fuse the ecstatic utopianism of Star Trek with the doom of the Dark Rift.

While my work often references the epic, I seek to subvert my materials and construction to create a sense of the haphazard, enhancing one’s sense of the frayed edges of the work and by extension, framing the work’s arrival on the stage of internal and external mythologies.

I am for an amalgamation of the nifty, a collection of quasi-infinities, Astronomia, and the hunt for material representations for Pascal’s terror. If all goes according to plan I will be around for the J Robert Oppenheimer/ Jules Verne bar fight. I am interested in found material becoming lucid and fluid, shifting from itself into a sham riot of the heroic. For me, the almost arrival and the mining of futile heroicism is, in the words of a budding art historian, a response to being haunted by the heroic classical tradition; agonizing over our contemporaneous situation wherein nuclear warheads bear the names of gods: Triton, Neptune, Pluto, and Peacekeeper.
